About Kannada University (KANNADA-UNIVERSITY)

The Government of Karnataka through the Kannada University Hampi Act 1991 established Kannada University, Hampi, in 1991. Though the University was established in 1991, the demand for such a University was there in Karnataka since the mid-1980s. The Government of Karnataka established a commission under the chairmanship of Sadashiva Wodeyar to look into the demand. This Committee after consulting various intellectuals, education experts, political thinkers, social activists, literary personalities and representatives of people came out with a report and recommended the establishment of the much-needed Kannada University. Single evaluation is adopted in the case of Undergraduate courses (in Music and Visual Arts), while double evaluation (if necessary, a third one), comprising one internal and one external evaluation, is followed for Postgraduate courses. In the case of the Ph.D. Programme, the University adopts, like most others, two external and one internal evaluation. The procedure is completed by open defence. The University adopts both central and door evaluation and question papers are set unit-wise in order to cover all prescribed topics in respective papers. Apart from this, the evaluation processes incorporate regular assignments and seminars by the Postgraduate and Ph.D. students; bi-annual evaluation Ph.D. students on the basis of written notes presented by them etc., thus bringing in it elements of regularity and continuity in evaluation processes.

4. Upon clicking on New Registration, a registration window appears.
5. Fill the registration form and submit it.
6. A user ID and password is sent to the registered mobile number.
7. Login with the login credentials provided and fill out the application form.
8. Upload the scanned copies of documents, photograph and signature and submit it.
9. After this, candidates will be directed to the payment page where payment can be made through credit card, debit card or net banking.
10. After payment, the final submission of application will be done.
